Today in Rock History April 21, 2013 Christina Amphlett, frontwoman of The Divinyls, passed away at 53 after a long battle with breast cancer. Amphlett was the charismatic lead singer of The Divinyls, best known for their 1991 hit “I Touch Myself.” She was a pioneering figure in Australian rock, known for her powerful voice and bold stage presence. The passing was widely mourned in the music community as the loss of one of Australia’s most distinctive and influential rock vocalists.
