Earlier this month students represented our academy at the National Junior Indoor Rowing competition. 🚣 Special congratulations to Serge, Aurianna, Leanna and Dontae for top 25 finishes in the Leeds competition - a fantastic achievement. 👏 #TeamDixons @DTC_PE

This year for Children’s Mental Health Week, the theme was ‘This is My Place’. Students explored belonging through workshops including portrait-making, Year 11 “Glow & Grow” sessions and resilience sessions from We Are Towards. Every student deserves to feel they belong. 💙

Next week is Careers Week at Dixons Trinity Chapeltown! Students will take part in workshops, talks and Q&A sessions to help prepare for their post-16 journeys. Staff will also share their own mountain climbs to inspire and guide the next generation. ⛰️✨ #CareersEducation

Last week we celebrated Neurodiversity Celebration Week. 🌈 Students heard powerful talks from staff who shared their own experiences of neurodiversity and the mountains they’ve climbed along the way. At Dixons, inclusion and understanding are at the heart of our community. 💙

Over the past few weeks, students have taken part in a series of inspiring workshops with Northern Ballet, exploring dance, costume design and art. 🎭 They also enjoyed a trip to Leeds Grand Theatre to watch Gentleman Jack - a fantastic opportunity to experience live performance!

As our trip to China comes to an end, we couldn’t be prouder of our students. They represented our academy and the Dixons Difference with integrity, kindness and curiosity. A huge thank you to our hosts for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Memories to cherish forever. ✨

Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate! 🌙✨ Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a month of prayer, reflection and fasting, and welcomes the beginning of Shawwal. A special time for prayer, charity, family and shared meals. Wishing our community peace, joy and many blessings today.

Learning also happens beyond the classroom. Our students explored local sights, joined extra-curricular activities and shared new experiences with friends. And of course, a few souvenirs came home too! Memories that will last a lifetime. ✨ #CulturalExchange

Reminder: Due to a data and planning day, the academy will close at 11:30am for secondary students on Friday 20 March. Use the afternoon to keep climbing your mountains from home, catch up on learning and prepare for a strong week ahead. 📚⛰️

Immersion is the best teacher. 🌍 While in China, our students experienced a lesson taught entirely in Chinese. Walking in someone else’s shoes builds understanding, empathy and community, an unforgettable step in their learning journey. 📚✨

Nothing brings people together like sport! 💪 Our students tried Jianzi, a traditional Chinese game where players keep a shuttlecock in the air using anything but their hands. Mastery takes courage, practice and perseverance, even when something feels new and challenging. 🏸

On Thursday 19 March, Year 11 will receive their mock exam results. Be proud of the effort you’ve shown so far. This is an important moment to celebrate progress and identify next steps as you prepare for your summer exams. We’re behind you all the way. 📚⛰️ #Year11

Even in another country, Alisha and Amy are climbing their artistic mountains! 🎨 They explored water marbling on traditional Chinese tuánshàn fans and joined a printing workshop. Art connects people beyond language, building community through creativity, empathy and action. ✨

A fantastic 7-3 victory for our girls’ netball team against Bishop Young Academy. 🏐 Great performances, excellent teamwork and unwavering determination throughout. Success is built on disciplined practice, shared purpose and a commitment to mastery - we are very proud of you.

An important part of community is coming together, sharing stories, differing perspectives, experiences and sometimes... a big platter of food! 🍢 Here are the girls experiencing their first ever Chinese hot pot, doesn't it look delicious?! 🍜

Ms. Plahe, Amy and Alisha haven't wasted any time, and are immersing themselves in the culture by taking part in tea ceremonies and Chinese calligraphy. 🫖🖌️ We're so proud of their ability to embody our academy values even when they're half way across the world!

On Friday, our five hour art mock examination takes place. Students are busy preparing, refining ideas and readying their creativity. 🎨 Sustained focus, independence and commitment to mastery will be key. We look forward to seeing the impressive outcomes they produce. 👏
