Sorry, man. This is still a relapse. Treat it as such. I had 10 years clean, but that ended about 5 years ago. It started with non-alcoholic beer… which turned into real beer… and then quickly into pounding 4Lokos on an empty stomach. I told myself I was doing better by not drinking liquor. You can guess how that went. I got off alcohol again in 2023. Stayed solid through 2024. Then in 2025, I got into kratom extracts. I had used regular kratom before and liked it, but my tolerance was low—two OPMS Golds would give me a light nod. Mid-2025, I came across 7-OH. I actually found it through people warning how strong and addictive it was. Even the guy at the shop warned me. And of course… I tried it anyway. It hit like perc 30s or the old OC 80s—full-on nods. I couldn’t believe it. Opiates were always my gateway to heavier drinking. Back in the day, I was drinking daily just to get through withdrawal. That’s what led me to rehab in 2012. I did 90 in 90 and stayed locked into meetings for years—especially that first year. Fast forward again to 2025—after just a few days on 7-OH, regular kratom extracts stopped working completely. My tolerance skyrocketed. I was taking 20–40mg just to start. The withdrawal is brutal—on par with percs or OCs. I never went through heroin or fent withdrawal, but this is bad enough. The worst part is how short it lasts. I’d wake up at 3:00 AM already in withdrawal. Every day. I tried to hold off dosing until 7 AM because I knew if I started dosing in the middle of the night, it would get even worse. Now I’m stuck in this cycle, trying to step back down—7-OH to extracts, extracts to powder, then hopefully off completely. But it’s a fight. The second I leave work, it’s all I think about. MIT45 and OPMS don’t even touch it anymore. Make better decisions than I did. This stuff is not a joke. If this helps even one person avoid it, it’s worth saying. At the same time, I worry that more attention might just make things worse instead of better. Right now, I’m struggling. And it sucks.
