Critics praise 'The Death of Robin Hood' 🏹
• "Hugh Jackman turns the hero’s tale into a bloody, brilliant reckoning" — SF Chronicle
“[The] first act basically makes ‘Game of Thrones’ look like child’s play … Hugh Jackman has probably never had to completely disappear into a role quite like this one before and he is game to do it all the way” — Deadline
In theaters this Friday 🍿

Some of you have been convinced to believe that there's only one PLF brand that has the biggest screens and best sound.
But Dolby, Cinemark XD, Regal RPX, AMC Prime and XL also have larger screens supported by Dolby Vision, HDR by Barco, and Dolby Atmos sound.
SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY not getting an image maximum release isn't the end of the world.

@Doug_Pembry Hi @Doug_Pembry, we implemented the "passionate minority" rule in May of 2024.

Inspired by those scripts that made it because just a few people believed, Gauntlet founders built their system with a “passionate minority” rule.
At level 1, if a minority of just 2 or 3 Gauntlet analysts approve your script with high ratings, it can climb to Level 2.
Famously, execs and industry readers didn’t ‘get’ Charlie Kaufman’s stories. Yet, he went on to win Best Original Screenplay in 2024 for “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”

Labels such as "sequel," "reboot" and "remake" have become trigger words for Hollywood studios.
Sony, for example, is marketing "The Social Reckoning" as a "companion piece" to "The Social Network" and not a "sequel."
"Audiences have been trained to think 'sequel' means homework. People want something new, so when you put a '2,' '3' or '4' in the title, it gets a groan,” says one marketing executive. “'Reboot' just sounds like something was underperforming so we’re going to redo it. 'Remake' is the same. People think, 'Oh, you're just recycling stuff we've seen before.'"

The delay of the Alien: Romulus sequel, according to recent reports, stems from Ridley Scott, as producer, making the director search more difficult because he reportedly wants to direct the film himself.
However, Scott has not publicly confirmed any desire to return to the director’s chair. What is clear is that the delays are mainly due to the ongoing search for a new director and earlier creative differences, particularly around bringing back Michael Fassbender’s David.
Fede Álvarez, who directed Alien: Romulus, completed a script for the sequel but announced in September 2025 that he would not return as director. He's staying on as producer alongside Ridley Scott.
If Scott does return to continue the story with David, it would certainly be exciting for fans, but he has previously said he feels he’s done enough directing in the franchise.

The old RKO lot is now part of Paramount. This is roughly how that view looked in September 2025.

RKO movie studios, NE corner of Melrose and Gower, Hollywood. I love the way the movie billboards were lit up and those electric lightning bolts. The two billboards closest to the corner were advertising “To Beat the Band” and “The Rainmakers” which came out in 1935.

Tom Holland says creativity is safe from AI because it 'doesn't have a soul'
"Creativity is safe from AI because creativity has to do with the human experience. It's about emotions, it's about understanding one another ... AI can sift through data ... but it doesn’t understand emotions. It doesn’t understand the difference between being happy and being sad ... the way artists paint, it's not about what they're copying, it's about expressing themselves ... [AI] doesn't have a soul"

Anya Taylor-Joy says she spent six months lobbying George Miller against giving Dementus a “clean kill” in ‘FURIOSA,’ arguing that Furiosa should be the one to determine his fate:
“I just advocated and advocated and advocated for her to live up to her name. That was my mountain on that movie, and I got it, but it was hard, hard won.”
