I had an incredible time today supporting new #teachers and #professors in India! I challenged them to shift their paradigm on #classroom management by using the C.A.P.S.Y acronym. Here's what it means: C - Manage your curriculum. This includes lesson planning, studying your craft, finding the right activities, etc. Practicing your delivery is key to presenting yourself as a master #teacher to your #students. A - Manage the administrative side of your job. Balancing paperwork and deadlines is essential to successful #teaching. P - Manage your #parent community. Don't forget to honor the vision and priorities of the home. S - Manage your students! Spending time researching your children using your school's database can make this task so much easier. Y - Manage yourself - TAKE CARE OF YOU! It’s the things you CAN’T see that fuel the things you CAN see. (Ephesians 6:12) As I start reading the book below, I’m reflecting on how I began my #college journey by studying to be a nurse. Then my major shifted to #business finance, and neither felt quite right. Faced with endless possibilities, I turned to #prayer and #fasting, seeking guidance for my next chapter. I wasn’t sure of many things, but my desire to make a difference and to fulfill God’s plan for my life was clear. It led me to #education, where I found my true calling to influence lives globally. I’m called, chosen, and blessed to absolutely rock this nation. But it started with the unseen. Take this piece of advice from me: value your downtime. Everything will still be there when you get back. Rest is not just a pause; it's an investment in your future productivity and well-being! 💡🌱 Feeling a bit adrift today! To those who know me well, it's no secret that I'm constantly on the go. But life has thrown me a curveball: I'm on enforced rest for the rest of the week 🤷‍♂️. My trusty computer is in for repairs. However, I'm embracing this as a learning moment. Intentional rest is a #lifelesson I wish I'd embraced earlier in my #career journey.

About last night…. Last night Impact Teaching Training & Leadership Development, as we celebrated our first annual Christmas party. Four years ago, we embarked on a journey to transform underperforming schools by focusing on #relationships, #research, and #relevance. When God gives you a impactful vision, and then provides you with people who believe you - even before there is proof - I believe you MUST be grateful enough to take care of them. The evening was also a special occasion to present the inaugural IMPACT CONSULTANT OF THE YEAR award. This year, it was awarded to Antoinette Henderson-Jackson for her exceptional work ethic, creativity, and consistency. She truly exemplifies the essence of IMPACT with her character and grace. It was an honor to recognize her contributions. Thank you, Ladies, for making changing the world attainable. I appreciate you more than you know:)

We had an incredible session with Memphis-Shelby County Schools - MSCS ! This time, we shifted our focus in tackling the challenge of dealing with difficult #teachers. Rather than diving straight into #instructional #strategies, we started with some introspection, guided by Ryan Leak's insightful question: "What's it like being on the other side of you?" Sometimes, we have to be honest and just say it’s us! Whooo! What an eye-opening #reflection! The response was wonderfully positive. Looking forward to our next meeting in a few weeks!
