More evidence for treating hypertension with mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, if renin is low despite ACE-inhibition. It is probably #PrimaryAldosteronism!

Work smarter, not harder! A low renin with concurrent use of ACEi/ARB is almost certainly some shade of Primary Aldosteronism. Either way, aldosterone-directed therapy is very likely to provide major clinical benefits ahajournals.org/eprint/TUS6CGX… @ChengHsuanTsai

People with #lupus experience a high burden of #hypertension and #heart disease. Should they be screened for #PrimaryAldosteronism? In our cohort of 322 patients with lupus, 30% has an indication for PA screening, only 3% were tested. @SCSMonash @Hudson_Research @MonashHealth
