APPLEBAUM: Since Trump’s election, United States provided almost no weaponry and no financial assistance to Ukraine over past year. The war is now 100% supported by Europe, allies in Asia, Canada, and Ukrainians themselves, who now produce huge percentage of their own weaponry. Ukraine makes its own drones and has the world’s best drone industry. In fact, they're already selling drones and signing drone deals across the Middle East.

Did you know C.S. Lewis predicted the modern obsession with “being nice” would destroy the soul? In The Abolition of Man, Lewis argues that when a society stops believing in objective virtue, it doesn’t become tolerant… it becomes manipulable. He calls the result “men without chests.” People with appetites and intellects, but no courage, no honor, no trained moral instincts. They can calculate everything and defend nothing. Lewis saw that once we reject inherited moral law, we don’t become free. We become raw material… easily shaped by propaganda, pleasure, and fear. Modern man prides himself on compassion while quietly surrendering every standard that once gave compassion meaning. Lewis’s insight is brutal: a civilization that educates clever cowards will eventually be ruled by tyrants or technicians. Because when nothing is worth dying for, everything becomes negotiable… including human dignity.

I've taught European history for 30 years. Americans have always asked me how the Holocaust was possible, how Germans could have enabled a madman reveling in mass murder to carry out his plans. Now we can see in real time how this is enabled; now we have front-row seats.

It's National Winston Churchill Day to commemorate when the British Prime Minister became an honorary U.S. citizen. USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG-81) flies the Royal Navy White Ensign on special occasions and always has a Royal Navy officer as a member of the ship's company.

This will offend some people. When considering how we deal with the problem of Islamist supremacism, it’s tempting to throw up our hands and despair. But the fact is, we’ve been here before and have a playbook for dealing with this stuff. There was in England’s history a recalcitrant religious minority that claimed the authority of a higher power to re-order English society by violence, even abrogating for itself the right to murder the monarch: it was called Catholicism. It’s imperial claims were suppressed and eventually defeated by the application of specific laws designed not to persecute people for being Catholic, but to thwart the political objective of making England a Catholic country. As always, the answer to our problems lie in our own history, if only we had the wit to see it.

🇺🇦🇷🇺 THIS is what was promised The United States, the United Kingdom, and Russia signed the Budapest Memorandum in 1994 Ukraine gave up the world’s 3rd largest nuclear arsenal, thousands of warheads, strategic bombers, everything In return? Guarantees of sovereignty and territorial integrity And then Russia invaded anyway So when people talk about “trust”, “agreements”, “guarantees”… this is the reference point Ukraine disarmed, and got war in return

Is there anybody sane or with a backbone anywhere near this administration? The UK’s (part-written) constitution is seriously flawed, but there’s no chance that a PM could be even 10% this bonkers and not have been removed by now…

If you’re a Military Veteran there is NO WAY you should be voting for @UKLabour in the local elections. Unless you’re an MP of course they have no integrity or moral courage. This country has spiralled under the last 2 governments and needs a reset. But voting Labour is madness.

Enoch Powell: Speech to London Rotary Club, Eastbourne 16th November, 1968 "In an earlier speech in February I had mentioned a class in a school in my constituency where there was only one white child. I mentioned it as a fact calculated to bring home to people the size and concentration of the immigrant population. Immediately, I was denounced as lying or retailing hearsay; and though the truth of what I said was confirmed in open council a few days later by the Chairman of the Education Committee, the national press refrained from reporting it and Roy Jenkins, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in a speech at Swansea three months later, who had only to lift the telephone on his desk to ascertain the truth, preferred to brand me as a liar by stating that no such school had ever been discovered. However Nemesis had not long to wait; and in September the very newspapers which had attacked me had the ignominy of having to report the existence not only in Wolverhampton but in Birmingham of such classes, as well as the 90 per cent immigrant school in my own constituency. So quickly does the incredible turn into what everybody knew all the time." enochpowell.net/fr-83.html

🚨The Bradford headteacher who blew the whistle on multiculturalism in the 1980’s: Ray Honeyford was the headmaster of Drummond Middle School in Bradford in the 1980’s. Ray was born into a very poor family with a father who was wounded in WW1 and often unable to work. He had 10 siblings, six of whom died in childhood. Ray went to work at 15 to support his family whilst taking evening classes to qualify as a teacher. In the mid 1980’s Drummond Middle School was 90% non-white and 95% Asian (mostly Pakistani). 1984 (an apt year!) Ray wrote an article on multiculturalism in Roger Scruton’s Salisbury Review. He noted that many children were actively encouraged to speak Urdu rather than English. He noted young girls were being forced into marriage and many children were arriving at school already exhausted after hours spent at the madrasah. And he said that parents were bringing the “politics of the subcontinent” with them and that many of the Pakistani parents viewed white Brits as the kafir who were not to be mixed with. He warned that it was resulting in “Asian ghetto’s” across Bradford and that political correctness was holding back integration and the educational prospects of ethnic minority children. He wrote the article not out of hatred, but out of a concern the children under his care were not getting a great British education. Muslim “community leaders” would pack meetings in the school and demand his resignation as did the local Pakistani Mayor of Bradford. He was suspended until his suspension was overturned in the High Court. But the parents started protesting and the children started boycotting the school. Ray even had to be given police protection. He eventually accepted a payout from the council and was forced into early retirement. He never worked as a teacher again. When Ray died in 2012 Roger Scruton wrote an obituary which said: “Readers will be grateful for the life of this exemplary, heroic and profoundly gentle man, who was prepared to pay the price of truth at a time of lies”.
