Congratulations to Greece who had the highest attendance last week. Japan, Brazil and Tanzania also hit the school attendance target of 97%. They will all get to play Drigopoly for a chance to win prizes for their class. 👏

Here our Y1 pupils use the team work skills they have developed over the year to create their own dens. A great British childhood is one of our curriculum promises and here it is in action!

It has been lovely to see our reception children engaged in the world around them. They love this aerial shot of the village. Our curriculum makes the children proud of where they are from.

Our nursery children were ‘born explorers’ this week on their educational visit. They have loved exploring the outdoors and a huge highlight has been the fire pit, which they navigated safely.

So incredibly proud of our village and the commemoration for the 80th anniversary of DDay. This day has meant a lot to our pupils and our community. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

Educational visits are a key part of our curriculum offer. Y4 visited the Leeds City museum to see the 3000 year old mummy and to explore what it would have been like to mummify a body- gruesome, but very interesting!

Here is our Y1 Henri Rousseau inspired artwork. Isn’t it beautiful? It’s even better in real life! Our children and staff have learned so much from working with Penny, our visiting artist.

Our Friday afternoon paired reading sessions are fast becoming our favourite part of the week. These sessions encourage our older readers to really think about how to engage their audience.

Our Y5 children are such amazing citizens. They have loved spending time with the residents of Owlett Hall. Their next challenge is going to be supporting the residents to do their mile a day walk. Our community is so important to us at DPS and we love being active citizens.

In reception the children have been exploring 2d shapes. These tangrams have really kept the children entertained as they tried to recreate the example picture or used their imaginations to create their own.

Class of 24 we could not be prouder of the resilience that you have shown this week. You make us proud every day, but you were extra special this week- well done!
