@AshleyFitzNL PEI has six fast chargers, of which one is only for Teslas. NL has 33 fast chargers, with more coming. The remaining “ports” are Level 2, which anyone can install at their home or business and make available on PlugShare. NL is actually in pretty good shape.

@ClydeRo67760084 @TedBlades We were not trying to set a speed record, we were meeting with EV groups and presenting to various groups across the country. Why not celebrate an alternative to expensive gas?

@TedBlades @DriveElectricNL 23 days to travel 8800Km that’s 382.6 km a day appointment driving 4 to 4 1/2 plus hour to eat , leaving 20 hours to charge , taking into account hotels . Drive in a gas vehicle 6 days 800 litres of gas 6 hotels , do the math. 6 hotels at $200 = 1200 vs 23 hotels at 200 = $4600

@AaronAdamack @TedBlades We were meeting up with EV owners, doing presentations, etc, on the way. Not trying for a speed record, but keeping it reasonable. No problem finding chargers, but some of the faster ones could work better.

@DriveElectricNL @TedBlades Was the longer time because of longer charging times for the truck and a bit longer route or were you just not in a rush? Also, how was it for getting access to chargers? Were there long waits or was it pretty easy with it not being peak tourist season?

EVs don't just increase electricity demand - they can help manage it when connected to the grid and actually end up a net benefit to electricity supply. @nspowerinc is already testing this...
