Question for MB school staff and families: Did you spend part of spring break 2022 recovering from COVID and/or taking care of someone who tested +? #mbed #journorequest

@imgrund Same thing happened to my child. First test was so faint it was almost imperceptible. We had her start to isolate because she was sick and had symptoms anyway. Next day she had two solid red lines.

@mshopeteach That happened to me the other day too. I was making icing sugar and the butter and sugar just stayed grainy. I kept at it and added more milk and it eventually turned creamy but it was so weird.

@jdotneufeld I will snap a picture for sharing tomorrow. I started with audio. I like it cause it contains most vowels other than e. E can usually be guessed by process of elimination. I think I did the word Seams next. Came to EAT and blend PL made most sense

Here's yesterday's: I started with the previous day's word SHARD, then tried A in 2 with some common consonants T and N. Then tried A in 4, T didn't have a letter combo that could go at the front bc H was out, so it had to go at the end /1

@NotThatStef @DufferinPLC I only got yesterday bc someone made a joke about it on twitter. Even jokes can be hints! No jokes or anything until the NEXT DAY people!! I've started using the previous day's word as my starting word, it's kind of fun.

Ss compared knit vs leather mittens. All made by grandmothers, nanas, kookums. Kids decided grandmas have a thing for keeping them cozy! @DufferinSchool

My favourite Winnipeg example is Lagimodiere, which is mostly pronounced by English speakers not in a phonetic English way, but also not in the correct French way — so instead it's a sort of vague approximation of what the French way might be, by someone who doesn't speak French.
