@PleasantKenobi I despise Universes Beyond, and I try not to use the cards where I can. But, if it means more of my friends will play then it's not all bad.

@PleasantKenobi A friend asked me to build a izzet Gandalf EDH deck, because he loves LOTR and has always wanted to try MTG, but never cared about the MTG setting. A friend has bought all the Dr. Who decks even though they've never played MTG, but now they want to.

A thought; Have you met anyone that came to Magic due to another IP and Universes Beyond. Have you met, or do you know people that came into Magic through Warhammer, Doctor Who, LOTR or similar? (Keep in mind, these people may collect or play casually at home)

@edhrec Shalai, Voice of Plenty. Just some selesnya good stuff. I swapped Shalai for Emmara, Soul of the Accord after getting the prerelease promo at my first prerelease and I still have Emmara to this day.

What was your first Commander deck? Do you still have it, or did it turn into something else?

@kurohitsuki Fallout 4 is kinder to new players. Fallout: New Vegas is the better game overall. Fallout 3 is an interesting history lesson in how Bethesda changed an isometric CRPG into a first person RPG.

@benjithebrewer I've cut all tutors from basically all my decks. But in my favourite deck, Emmara, Soul of the Accord, I cut Aura Shards, Doubling Season, Mondrak, skullclamp and Rhy the Redeemed. My rule is basically, if it creates a similar game pattern or game state every game, it gets cut

Hey #edh How often do you cut cards because they overpower your deck? What deck, what card, and what was the impact when you played that card? I will note that we know strong cards exist like Dockside and Cyc Rift, but I'm curious about examples beyond those.
