@HRHLadyJ TLDR, but from the tone of the first few paragraphs, youd think this son of a monarch had just done a BBC interview defending the world's most prolific paedophile. And brushed off a credible accuser of participating in his crimes. And later, getting the monarch to pay her £12m!

What on earth did I just watch? One has to begin with the life Prince Harry once lived. A British royal. A son of the current sovereign. Brother to the future sovereign. A grandson to the longest serving monarch in British history. He belonged to an institution more than one thousand years old, where even a modest role carries purpose. His everyday work involved lending his position to charities, veterans, conservation, mental health initiatives and countless worthwhile projects. He lived in a nation shaped by continuity, heritage and rich tradition. There were pressures. The public eye is demanding. Yet the exchange was plain. Duty created stability. Service offered meaning. His work connected him to something larger than personal ambition. Now consider what he traded it for. He moved not to a worse place but to a place entirely different from the United Kingdom. A culture built on visibility rather than discretion. A place where titles have no cultural currency. A country preparing to celebrate 250 years since it separated itself from the monarchy he was born to serve. The contrast is striking because it cuts directly across the message he and his wife insisted upon. They said they wanted privacy. They said they sought space. They said the glare was unbearable. Yet the life they have constructed bears almost no relation to those claims. Privacy was replaced by a suite of commercial contracts. A multi show Netflix deal. A series of podcasts. A programme that featured their own home. Footage of their children inside the very space they said must remain protected from the cameras. All the while, the same couple spent years using part of their own charity to villainize social media as dangerous and unsafe for children, only to then post images or clips of their own children, with faces covered or backs of heads, across social media and business promotion. That same family they denounce has been turned into the narrative used to sell stories, sign deals, books and interviews. All the while a British ducal royal peerage gifted to a Prince of the realm by Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, once intended as a working title rooted in service, has been turned into a source of income and redeployed as part of that commercial identity. It now appears as a gloss over white label panty products and a couple of scented candles, the title reduced from an honour of state to a marketing accent on merchandise. The irony is unmistakable. The man who said he wanted distance from the spotlight has embraced a level of media manufacture that few royals could imagine. The couple who condemned intrusion have filmed their domestic lives for global release. The parents who complained that photographers must never capture a school journey have willingly invited streaming platforms into the private rooms and journalist in a car ride to school of the very same children. Add to that the strangest and most ironic truth of all. Prince Harry says he wants to be a philanthropist. He wants to champion charity. He wants purpose. Yet he once had the very life he now claims to seek. Philanthropy was woven into his role. Service was his daily work. He did not need to construct a persona as a campaigner because he already had an established platform to support genuine causes with lasting impact. And now. A late night television segment. A few minutes of manufactured relevance. A spectacle that would have been unthinkable for a royal, let alone a prince of the realm. This is the return on everything he surrendered. These brief appearances, these transient performances, represent the height of what he has achieved since leaving the life that once gave him stability, purpose and dignity. It's not America that is the issue. It's not California. It's the profound clash between what he left, what he claimed to want, and what he actually chose. The transformation is stark and the contradiction is complete. A birth prince once rooted in service now stands adrift in a commercial landscape he insisted he never wanted. A sad and entirely predictable end to a story many foretold, a grand contradiction that now stands in full view. #FromPrinceToBrand #CommercialisedPeerage #RoyalTitlesMisused #TitlesForSale #ServiceAbandoned #BirthrightMisused

It should not affect the way faith based schools teach - as in 'this is our faith'. But they cannot lawfully claim their faith is the only or the superior faith. I expect a big challenge to the decision.

Given that the Supreme Court already takes its cue on interpretation of rights from the ECHR, an appeal is unlikely to succeed.

@Berlinnaeus #annlovett @rte Ann going to the grotto to give birth on a freezing February day, was due to the lack of mercy in a supposedly religious country. As if she was seeking mercy from the statue. She should have been shown care and compassion in her home, her village and her country.

On this day, 34 years ago, Ann Lovett died after giving birth in a field, beside a statue of the Virgin Mary. Ireland was a cold, cold place for a young girl with a crisis pregnancy. #AnnLovett

Anyone harkening back to the good old days of Éire should be made look at the film of Ann Lovett and not turn away. It's brutal but the stark reality of Ireland in the 80s. Ireland's shame.

@RayKelleherCork @rte One of the country's greatest tragedies. The church and state bore a huge responsibility for it. Ann's story played a key role in the activism that brought down that unholy alliance.

Thank you @KellieArmstrong for the insight: 'using 'abortion' language on the face of this bill, when it already covers all forms of loss is more about political point scoring and harming women than it is anything about actually making good legislation.”

I have written about how political figures often use various, underhand means to undermine a law they don't agree with. Here's an example: Alliance hits out at 'callous’ wording as TUV amendment to baby loss bill discussed at Stormont belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/politics/…

@purdypols If it was yourself being shut down and spoken to in this manner, I would not like that. Would not matter that I do not agree with you on most issues, I do not like any woman being demeaned in this manner.

How much did Noel Kelly star and walking billboard Kathryn Thomas get paid for 'The Skinny Jab Revolution' a 2-part series broadcast by RTE 1? Who knows. The programme was produced by Aquarius Productions, which is 100% owned by Thomas.

@dgtechllc @MAGALieTracker @GovPressOffice To demonstrate more effectively how utterly ridiculous it is to communicate this way. We have become so desensitised to the crazy way the actual President of USA (and most powerful figure in the world) communiticates Only way to stir people up about it now, is to do the same!
