A reminder that Elsevier made $10.5 BILLION in 2022 from selling your academic journals and articles behind paywalls, and make more profit than Amazon, Google, and Apple every year… And paid the academics who wrote the articles $0 And paid the reviewers of the articles $0

So hopefully this publication can start a discussion about alternative ways to achieve justice.

But alternatives are possible within the just transition framework. Investments in education, child- and elderly care or energy communities.

For FEPS I wrote an analysis of 7 ‘just transition plans’. Those plans should help regions that are affected the most by the European Commission’s goal to make Europe climate neutral in 2050.
