It is honestly so disappointing to see what FIFA has done with this World Cup. I knew prices were going to be high, but not unjustifiably high like they are now. I, like many others, was excited for the chance to witness a World Cup in person. But that dream is gone because I simply cannot justify spending hundreds of dollars on tickets, and that is not even including the extremely high cost of parking and everything else around it. The beauty of football is how accessible it is. It is a sport that connects people from all backgrounds. The World Cup was always meant to celebrate the game, bring different cultures together, and unite fans across the world. Seeing reports of tickets being priced as high as $10,000 for a group stage game completely goes against that idea. I do not understand how FIFA can justify this, but at the same time it is not surprising. Saying that prices are high because Americans are used to paying premium prices is one of the worst excuses I have heard. Many Americans are already working multiple jobs just to live comfortably. If people in the host country cannot even afford to attend, how can these prices be considered reasonable. It also completely ignores international fans. The World Cup is supposed to be global, yet these prices make it nearly impossible for many fans traveling from other countries to be there. That takes away from the atmosphere and what makes the tournament special. At this point, it feels like the sport is being over commercialized to the point where it is becoming inaccessible. The identity of football is being lost. The people who truly love and support the game are being pushed out, and instead the experience is being reserved for those who can simply afford it. That is not what the World Cup is supposed to represent. @FIFAcom @FIFAWorldCup DO BETTER

More excellent insights from day one of Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham Hotspur. Following a two touch rondo, De Zerbi progressed into a small sided game where touch restrictions were removed. He addressed the players and spoke about how the modern Premier League has evolved, with a clear shift towards man to man pressing across the pitch. He highlighted the importance of midfielders who can control and retain possession under pressure, whether that is one touch, two touch, or taking additional touches when required. The emphasis was on being comfortable in those moments, which would then allow teammates around them the time to adjust their positioning and move away from their pressure. He also stressed the need to recognize and exploit areas of the pitch where there is a clear individual advantage in duels. In simple terms, midfielders must be capable and comfortable playing vs pressure while also identifying where the team can gain an edge in one against one situations especially in wide areas or up front. This ability to manage pressure and find the right spaces/passes is key against man to man systems.

@josueaceves925 @la_jujul Trump and lawmakers had a chance to cap prices of tickets for citizens and visiting fans and decided against it. Euros are definitely more affordable due to capped ticket prices. Real fans deserve to see their team/ nation in person without the fear of breaking the bank

@josueaceves925 @la_jujul Trump had a chance to punish Ticketmaster for price gouging and didn’t . He also had a choice to make tickets for citizens a lot cheaper and didn’t. Do some research

Spurs literally signed the first black player in England, Walter Tull in the 1910’s, was sanctuary for Jewish fans in the 1920’s, sparked the modern revolution of signing foreign players in the 1970’ and created one of the first LGBTQ supporters associations. This is who we are.
