As we celebrate Black August, let us draw inspiration from this historic struggle and continue our own fight for justice, equality, and the triumph of the human spirit. Together, we carry the legacy of the Haitian Revolution,ensuring that its lessons of resilience and liberation.

In this month of remembrance and resistance, we pay homage to the Haitian Revolution, a defining moment in history that shattered the chains of slavery and sparked a beacon of hope for liberation worldwide.

Led by the fearless Toussaint L'Ouverture, the Haitian Revolution triumphed against all odds, proving the power of unity and the unwavering spirit of the enslaved Africans fighting for their freedom.

As we remember the Watts Uprising, let it serve as a reminder of the ongoing fight for racial justice and the urgency to dismantle systemic inequalities.

On August 11, 1965, the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles erupted in rebellion, ignited by the deeply rooted issues of police brutality, housing discrimination, and educational disparities.

The Watts Rebellion was a powerful expression of frustration, a demand for justice, and a call for change. Yet, despite the findings of a gubernatorial commission that highlighted the systemic issues plaguing the community, city and state officials failed to address the issues.

A single incident of police violence during a routine traffic stop became the catalyst for a five-day uprising, fueled by years of injustice and neglect.
