Reflections of Home: A Glimpse into Nigeria In the heart of West Africa lies a nation that boasts diversity as rich as its history – Nigeria. As I reflect upon the tapestry of my homeland, I am reminded of the vibrant colours, flavours, and stories that have shaped me.

Jorginho said he never believed how good Hazard was until his EPL debut game at Chelsea. He wanted every ball to go Hazard after he watched Hazard drop a masterclass assist for Pedro. 😂

No matter how good a woman is, her character, her beauty, her heart—a man can still be tempted to look outside. It is not a good thing. And I say this with humility: I repented of it long ago. Sometimes, all a man really needs to do is calm down and hold his woman tight. She is your best. The rest, hmmnnn? Na breeze o. There was a season when something came over me. I started noticing other women. Enjoying their company. Feeling drawn to the noise. Meanwhile, my wife, A nurse. Quiet. Focused. Studying. Building capacity. Growing in silence. Instead of fighting, accusing, or breaking down, she did something extraordinary. She calmly befriended those same women. One by one, they became her friends… even her best friends. I still don’t know how she did it. One day, I jokingly told her, “You have taken all my babes” And we laughed. But looking back now, I see wisdom. I see strength. I see maturity. I see grace. My wife has grown, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually. And I am deeply grateful I did not lose her to my own restlessness. Men, let us calm down. What we are looking for “outside” is often growing quietly at home. Protect it. Nurture it. Choose it, again and again. 🙏🏿

For months, the woman suspected her husband was cheating. The signs were there, but she couldn’t trace the other woman. Nothing concrete. No name. No face. Just instinct. So she decided to get smart. She used technology to quietly clone his social accounts and began observing his movements. Not to cause drama, not to fight. She simply wanted answers. She wanted to know who he was spending quality time with aside from her. Deep down, she was also battling a personal question: Was she still enough? Physically, she was stunning. The kind of beauty people describe as fragile but flawless like a glass house. Still, doubt has a way of humbling even the most confident people. Then one day, it happened. She saw him. With her. She was ready to confront them, ready to raise her voice until she saw the woman. Tall. Elegant. Confident. In her words later, “titanium house.” Strong presence. Serious beauty. Her anger paused. Her voice disappeared. She walked away. Instead of creating a scene, she left them both and sent her husband a message: Meet me at home. When he arrived, tense and afraid of what was coming, she looked him straight in the eyes and said calmly: “You are a bastard for cheating on me. But clearly, you have serious eyes for good things.” That was it. No shouting. No insults. No public embarrassment. That moment changed everything. The way she handled the situation forced him to confront himself. He stopped cheating not because he was caught, but because he saw maturity, confidence and self-respect staring back at him. And strangely enough, their marriage became better after that day. Sometimes, it’s not the noise that fixes things. It is the control. On the other hand, what if the lady was not that classy? 😁

Many years ago, a customer walked into our Lekki outlet, visibly very upset. She had ordered a smoothie and angrily complained that she could taste banana in it. The problem? That particular product wasn’t supposed to contain any banana at all. My team replied, saying there was no way banana could have found its way into that drink. We are very strict about following our standard recipes, but the customer insisted. She demanded a refund and said she would never come back. Then she added that she was actually allergic to bananas and was having reactions already. Allergic to bananas? That was a new one for us. My team collected the drink, tasted it, and held their ground. We can't taste any banana, ma, and it was simply impossible. We would never add an ingredient that wasn’t listed. But the customer remained firm, insisting she could taste it and was reacting to it. She left the store angrily, never to return. At that point, they reached out to me. I told them to call her, apologize sincerely for how she was feeling, and deliver a fresh drink right away. Then I spoke to her myself, apologise and reassured her that we would investigate, and promised to find out what really happened and her next smoothie order would also be free. So, I immediately asked the QA Manager to dig deeper. If the customer insists, I told the team, we owe it to her and to ourselves to find out why. The investigation revealed something we had completely missed: the person who made the smoothie had used the same knife to cut banana for another product few minutes earlier, then used that same knife to cut the fruits for her smoothie. Woah!! The smallest of cross-contamination. A tiny action, but for someone highly sensitive to banana, it was enough to trigger a reaction. That single complaint led us to introduce major changes in our production process. It changed how we handled tools, tightened our production and hygiene standards, and reinforced a stronger culture of listening. The best customers aren’t always the happy, smiling ones who never complain. Sometimes, the best customers are the ones who challenge you, who point out what’s wrong, even when it’s uncomfortable to hear. Never see a complaint as an attack, see it as a gift. The truth is a complaining customer still cares enough to speak up instead of walking away. And if you listen, investigate, and act, you don’t just fix a problem, you make your business better for everyone. So, the next time a customer comes back to complain, don’t dismiss it. Lean in, listen, and learn. That’s where real growth begins. Of course, you guessed right, she remained a very loyal customer.

Few years ago, my brother sent a Cadillac to Naija but the car was locked. After much wahala to unlock the car, I was referred to an auto mechanic workshop inside LTV8. On getting there and interacting with the owner of the workshop, I knew right away that the man knows what he is doing and he will unlock the car. He charged me N650k. I called my brother and told him the price but he said it is too much. He said he will buy software to unlock it himself since he will be in Naija in 2 weeks. I begged the man to let me keep the car in his yard and he agreed. In two weeks, bro came with the software and other gadgets to unlock the car. We went to the workshop, and started trying our lock to unlock the car. For hours, we were there "trying". We watched YouTube, read the manual, checked Google..... lailai. 😂 Throughout the period we were trying, I noticed the man was calm, he would come to us once in a while and say "well done". In my mind, I knew he was saying "let me see how you will unlock it here". After many hours, I told my brother, let's talk to this man so that we can leave this place. Reluctantly, he agreed and we went to meet the man in his office. He said his price has changed to N750k! I thought it was a joke at first but the way he was calm and expressed himself, I know he was not joking. Long story short, we paid N750k. He unlocked the car in under 2 hours. Trying to prove that you know more than those who know more than you will cost you many things in life and many times, it won't be money.
