A nationwide backlash to AI data centers is brewing. And for good reason: while AI enriches Big Tech CEOs and props up the stock market, data centers are sucking up communities’ water and power. When the AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag. Be warned.

In New Jersey a bill has been introduced to make sure data centers pay for electricity they use. This power surcharge would go toward modernizing the state’s electric grid.

Altogether, AI data centers now use more electricity than most countries. We didn’t ask for any of this. These data centers steal our jobs, energy, and water. Shut them all down & turn them into social housing units.

When they say "you must embrace AI" it's cause they have a financial stake in it. They spent billions and their new business models are reliant on it. They don't want to lose their money. I can't wait for this bubble to pop.
