You're a Labour MP talking about taking money? Labour is renowned for taking brown envelopes for giving developers planning permission to build on green belt land, donations from Lord Alli, not to mention trade unions, and Labour Friends of Israel... The hypocrisy never amazes me...

Nigel Farage took £5 MILLION from a billionaire just before announcing his run to be an MP. But he didn’t declare it. Even though the rules are clear.   Another reminder of how close Farage is to the rich and powerful - despite his claim to speak for ordinary people.

Ok, let's unpack that. Firstly, that's not the only reason why I would never vote for Polanski. Other than his shady past as a literal conman hypnotherapist called David Paulden, he's a communist Marxist who wants to legalise all drugs, legalise prostitution, wants zero boarders, leave NATO, get rid of our nuclear deterrent and his economically illiterate policies would cripple the country in months. He can't talk about his manifesto because he looks stupid when doing so. You have to be a special kind of stupid to even consider voting for him. With Trump, many people don't like him, but funnily enough, they don't actually know anything more than what they hear in mainstream media. I'd argue that he's actually done a lot of good things to spite his mistakes. Abraham Accords peace deals, First Step Act criminal justice reform, Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, USMCA trade deal, Opportunity Zones investment, Opioid crisis response, Veterans Choice program expansion, Energy production, Space Force creation, Operation Warp Speed vaccines, Border security and deportations, Tax cuts made permanent, Government efficiency cuts DOGE, National crime reduction, Multiple peace deals up to 8+, Operation Legend federal crime fighting, ISIS territorial defeat, NATO ally spending pressure, Defense industrial base strengthening, Reshoring investments and economic growth measures, and Cartel designations. Can you name one prime minister that has done even half of that list?

If that's the case, why do black lives only matter when white people take black lives? The vast majority of black murders are at the hands of other black people, where are the protests for those black lives, and why don't they matter enough to get the attention of black lives matter? It's because even though it's a marginally bigger issue, it doesn't fit the narrative and wouldn't attract donations...

I worked in the housing sector for 16 years, and I hate to break it to you, but prices go up all the time even before right to buy so if rising house prices are the reason you blame her, it was already happening. It's called inflation and supply and demand. Also, if you look at what the government is calling, affordable homes they actually come on the market for a 15-20% premium from older properties of similar size. Every time they sell one, it increases the amount banks will lend on other properties in the area, including the older properties. This pushes up how much lender will borrow on properties in the area, meaning asking prices go up. This is a prime example of why you shouldn't talk about things you haven't studied or done before. Realistically, the right to buy helped a lot of lower and lower middle-class families. The rich were not entitled to council housing, so they couldn't buy any of the houses.

Her plan was never to help the poor, but make a housing market that increased in price year after year.

People like to blame Thatcher, but the reality is that many other people have been in power since she left office, and they didn't build more council houses, so how can you blame her for giving lower income families a chance to get on the ladder? The right to buy scheme helped a lot of lower income families become homeowners, and she wasn't in office long enough to have built enough homes to plug todays gaps. John Major, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, and Boris Johnson all could have built more, but they didn't. The problem with leftist is they can't hold their chosen politicians accountable and just spend their time blaming everyone else. Labour had 13 years to build council houses but spent money on two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan looking for weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist.

@Elementcast9t9 @ZackPolanski Building more council homes in addition to rent controls works when you have enough state build housing. But we don't right now because since Thatcher the government has done very little to build more houses.
