Once upon a time, we only had one university in Uganda. It also had only one Guild President, and everything was analogue and very interesting. No student could stub another bse of guild elections! It was a very high privilege to have been one of the presidents for 1991/92.

Burundi’s President, Évariste Ndayishimiye, has been selected by his ruling party, CNDD–FDD, to contest in next year’s presidential election. He is the first head of state to serve under Burundi’s amended constitution, which extended presidential terms from five to seven years. The constitution was revised in June 2018 following a referendum held in May of that year, in which more than 73% of voters backed the changes. The new law was promulgated by then-president Pierre Nkurunziza. Although a two-term limit remains, the amendment opened the possibility for incumbents to "reset the clock" and potentially serve two additional seven-year terms. The amendment also reintroduced the post of Prime Minister and reduced the number of Vice-Presidents from two to one.
