PEMBATALAN RUMAH TERBUKA HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI 2026 Susulan kesan ekonomi yang timbul akibat konflik di Asia Barat serta selaras dengan nasihat YAB PM, Kedutaan Besar Malaysia telah memutuskan bahawa sambutan Rumah Terbuka Hari Raya Aidilfitri bagi tahun ini tidak dapat diadakan.

In addition, the discussion focused on NIR’s current and prospective projects in Southeast Asia, particularly in areas related to responsible business practices, sustainable industrial development, and workforce capacity building.

During the meeting, the ACS Ambassadors were briefed on the mandate and ongoing initiatives of NIR, including the Swedish Workplace Programme, the Sustainability Impact Accelerator, and the Responsibility in Mining initiative.

On 10 March 2026, the Ambassadors of the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm (ACS) attended a meeting with representatives of the International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR) at the World Trade Centre in Stockholm.

On 6 March 2026, Mr. Theventhiran Arumugam, First Secretary, received a courtesy call from Ms Khadijah Ismail at the Embassy of Malaysia. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the potential opportunities for the younger Malaysian generation to explore and participate.

Among the key initiatives discussed was the preparation for the 3rd edition of the ASEAN Trade and Food Fair, which is expected to further promote ASEAN’s cultural diversity, culinary heritage, and economic linkages with Sweden.

Convened under the chairship of the Lao PDR, ACS Ambassadors reviewed the outcomes of two ACS activities conducted in January and February 2026, while also consolidating plans for programmes scheduled until June 2026.

On 4 March 2026, Ambassador Sarimah Akbar attended the 42nd #ASEANCommitteeinStockholm (ACS) meeting at the Residence of the Lao PDR Ambassador in Stockholm.

These discussions focused on enhancing air connectivity and exploring collaborative initiatives to strengthen visitor flows to Langkawi from Sweden.

During their visit, the delegation undertook a series of productive engagements, including a Langkawi Networking Session and meetings with key airline partners such as Qatar Airways and Emirates.

The delegation, led by Dr. Azmil Munif Mohd Bukhari, Tourism Manager of LADA, was in Sweden from 26 February to 1 March 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to promote Langkawi as a premier island destination of Malaysia.

On 27 February 2026, Ambassador Sarimah Akbar had the pleasure of hosting an iftar session for the delegation from the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA).
