Violent racist rioters who tried to burn refugees alive get shorter jail sentences (2-3 years) than peaceful @JustStop_ Oil protesters (4-5 years) That's the real 'two-tier injustice' in UK today. SHAME! Via @GeorgeMonbiot

If the Tories claim that you must have earnings of £38,000 to live sufficiently within the UK as an immigrant, why do they expect 70% of Brits in the UK earning less to be able to do so?

POV: You’re a station I’m trying to use and I need to buy the 50% wheelchair discount, but I can’t because the ticket office is closed and TVMs don’t sell them. Object to the closures now: transportforall.org.uk/campaign/ticke… #NotJustTheTicket

I am a graphic designer. The twitter bird logo/brand presented a kind, welcoming, open, light-hearted community. I think this new logo/brand is dark & sinister, overtly masculine, unwelcoming and threatening, not to mention rather self-obsessed.

My heart goes out to the parents talking on radio 4 about private school fees going up and having to consider the local school. Really moving report. (You can't buy self awareness)

@Embrumdiva @JDaviesPhD @equalitytrust Having worse mental health outcomes in more unequal societies doesn't mean the outcomes are caused by the inequality. If you could raise the income of every person who earns less than $50k p.a. by 50% by raising the incomes of millionaires by 100%, would you?

@JDaviesPhD Death of opportunity. Also, I disagree about inequality. That someone has more than someone else should not threaten mental health. Envy or poverty might, but the relative abundance of others in and of itself should not concern someone else.

1. Taxpayers is an irrelevant Thatcherite term, taxes don't pay for anything, the govt prints what it needs. Taxation is a control on inflation. 2. What prompted such a eugenicist question? What sort of question is this? Why not just ask, should the country bother with you if you get sick or happen to be disabled? 3. No wonder I gave up watching after Matthew Wright left if this is the level of questioning you've stooped to. Its sick and twisted and the most vulnerable have been demonised enough. You should apologise for even positing this. Signed a disgusted unpaid carer for two disabled people.

Absolutely shameful..I really don't think it's an exaggeration to say this is a war against disabled people. We could do so much better as a country to enable rather than disable people with this hateful rhetoric
Scope@scope

The rhetoric around disability benefits is getting nastier and nastier. Almost half of people in poverty are disabled. Meanwhile daytime TV paints disabled people as a drain on taxpayers, and questions their right to support. ❌ We can’t let this narrative go unchallenged.
