@DiviBeats @AuthorXoXie My point isn’t that I think the problem is still there, it’s the fact that Korra didn’t actually address it. She just exposed Amon. If the Lieutenant decided to continue the fight, she’d have no power of him. It was just lazy writing the way it concluded.

@MovieFlameProd And basically cutting out Hermione’s whole plotline. She’s made to just be a tool in support of Harry/Ron in the movies, when in reality she has her own motivations for what she does.

We need to stop pretending the movies were perfect adaptations. They sucked in a lot of ways. Just to list a few things they fucked up off the top of my head: -Ruined Ron in favor of Hermione -Ginny was not Ginny -Made HBP a comedy when it should have been the second or third darkest film -Removed all the mystery aspects from GOF when it was written as a mystery book -Removed almost all of the Voldemort memories (one of the most important parts of the main villain) -Didn’t get the Quidditch World Cup -Missed 80% of Quidditch games at Hogwarts -Made those who haven’t read the books want Harry & Hermione together (Have Steve Kloves to thank for that) -Took away Grindelwald’s redemption in favor of making him tell Voldemort to kill Dumbledore instead -Completely changed Sirius’s character in OOTP And I could list 50 other things that they didn’t have time to cover, and I’ll probably think of another 20 things they messed up if I actually sit down and think about it. The movies were great, but let’s not pretend they’re perfect.

@DiviBeats @AuthorXoXie The Equalist were just the face of the issue but again, Benders vs Non Benders wasn’t actually resolved. All she did was get rid of their leader. The same assumption is made thinking the problem is gone. That’s why I asked, how did she actually bring equality?

@DiviBeats @AuthorXoXie Just because they didn’t show it, doesn’t mean it wasn’t there. With that said, what did Korra do to address that issue? Amon was just a voice/face for non-benders but benders still had the advantage afterward. All those in power were still benders.

@CeraGibson To bring new/younger fans to the audience. Only fans of the original are actually going back and watching. Rebooting the franchise for a new audience is almost a guaranteed success just because of how big the franchise is.

@korysverse The movies cut out a lot from the books. So doing a show allows them to flesh it out more. So actually, yes, there is a point. Plus, it’s HBO, they’ve consistently put out great shows for the past 3 decades.

@DanielRPK The point? To appeal to a younger audience. The original movies are good but the first few are over 20 years old. A majority aren’t going back to watch. This series will bring new fans to the franchise.

@bloodonacross GRRM doesn’t really care about the fulfillment of prophecies, he cares more about how the characters in his world interpret them. For example, Jon is one possible interpretation but another could be Dragons vs White Walkers etc.

@ForeignBobbie @aegonscult Because a seasoned actor will always fit a show/movie better than a child/teenage actor. Their future after the dance doesn’t have much bearing on the story itself, so aging Alyn to be in their 20s/30s is much better for the show.

He was probably sent to take out the Three Eyed Raven. Then he met Arya, saw the potential in a new recruit, and changed...

How was he captured and locked up?

@Bigdaddyvinz_ The show Littlefinger? Yes, he relied on a lot of luck. But in the books, he was way more subtle in his scheming and made sure to not expose himself too much so that he wouldn’t get caught.

Littlefinger was clever but mostly lucky...his schemes rely too heavily on others stupidity

@Joshwydd_ Because the showrunners didn’t understand Doran and his plans for Dorne. Doran has been plotting since Robert’s Rebellion but the show decided to scrap all of that and made it about the Sand snakes and their mother.

@Erardo @neva_png Yes but it wouldn't be him specifically, but his descendants through his son Maegor, since it was before GRRM came up with the Blackfyres. Though they can still be playing a role.
