@BustedOpenRadio @_denisesalcedo @TheMarkHenry Denise is speaking for me this morning. This makes no sense. Pat McAfee is going to “save the business”? What?
English

@BustedOpenRadio @davidlagreca1 @TheMarkHenry @PatMcAfeeShow @RandyOrton @SiriusXMSports Pat McAfee, moreso than anyone else, understands what “the business” needs? That’s what we’re supposed to believe? After the massive run with the Bloodline, etc, we’re back to “we need to get back to the 90s”?

In the 1990s we experienced:
Peak Michael Jordan.
The rise of Tiger Woods.
Gas at 99 cents a gallon.
The golden age of Hip-Hop.
The rise of The Rock & Steve Austin.
The rise of Venus and Serena Williams.
A streak of classic Disney animated films.
Sitcoms: Seinfeld, Friends, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Star Trek: "The Next Generation" and "Deep Space 9"
Peak SNES, and the arrival of Sony's first PlayStation.
Marvel Comics sold hundreds of thousands of books a month.
DC Comics' "The Death of Superman" became national news.
Rise of young comics including Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock.
Elite work from established Hollywood stars, breakouts of new stars and filmmakers, classic blockbuster films (and late night TV hosts who promoted the business instead of lecturing audiences).
Nostalgia for the 1990s is strong because excellence across multiple arenas in pop culture was obvious and undeniable, and this excellence enhanced our quality of life.
Fame had to be earned, we could enjoy things together, and algorithms had yet to atomize and divide us.
It was an amazing time to be alive.

@EddieTrunk To each their own indeed. I'm a huge Bruce fan, and while not all the covers mean much to me, many do. E Street Band versions of classics; homages to AC/DC, Prince, etc; they become part of the Bruce concert experience. He's sharing his love of music with the crowd.

It seems my opinion about artists doing covers live has touched off a debate of sorts? Apparently the part about artists with “deep extensive catalogs” was lost? All I am saying is an artist like Bruce has literally hundreds of songs. He does a percentage of covers all the time I’m told. IMO simply as a fan, if I go to see an artist because I love their music and they have an extensive catalog, I’d rather hear their songs. Simple as that. Again I get some have made covers their own, or it serves as a solo spotlight for someone. All good. But using the Bruce example I have a ton of friends that go see him and would much rather hear Jungleland or something he left out of his own catalog, vs a cover. I have seen Kiss, VH and more over the years add covers at the expense of big songs they left out. Just my opinion as a fan going to see an artist I love that has a large catalog. To each their own.

@narchy4all @garydinsdale Those old PPV themes were so good. I’ve always hoped they’d be released.

@mitchlafon Functionally and sonically, were they any different from CDs? Better, worse?
