I am in Mauritius for fieldwork right now, it is 27°C and my paper has been accepted to Interspeech2026.

I understand that everything is getting more expensive but the price to register for #ACL2026 is just ridiculous. Maybe this should be wake up call? If the US are getting this pricy, start organizing conferences in other countries?

At that point, reading reviews is kinda funny. You will have a couple of reviewers who will provide constructive critics (good or bad) and that one reviewer who is like "BOOOOO! LAME! Next!". #interspeech

And despite multiple reminders, emergency reviewers found and all reviews in very last minute. I still have regular reviewers turning their reviews in the middle of the author's response period... #ACL2026
