This Important Thing was swept away by other news stuff like war and the biggest / coolest supply-chain attacks of all time, but I think we need to revisit it and give it the disrespect it deserves. Link in the comment below, because the algorithm might hate me slightly less.

@ZackKorman You live in Norway (the Saudi Arabia of Europe, from an energy standpoint) and I live in Nevada (where lots of our energy comes from solar and hydro) so we’re relatively isolated from gas supply issues, but the rest of the world isn’t.

@ZackKorman When things are capacity-constrained, every gas turbine (let’s not kid ourselves about where most power really comes from) that goes into powering a datacenter is a gas turbine that can’t be used for [YourCountry][AnyTown], driving up [AnyTown]’s prices.

Niche post, but: Anthropic’s audit logs for Claude Code don’t tell you enough to detect misaligned / malicious behavior. You unfortunately need to use hooks instead to get the necessary data.

@ZackKorman So AI factories wind up in a bidding war for energy, and AI consumers wind up in a bidding war for capacity. If the supply and demand curves can’t converge at a price everyone can live with, then we have a pretty ugly problem. Right now it’s papered over with investor cash.

@ZackKorman The factory production capacity to build the energy generation for all of these datacenters people are talking about does not exist, at any price, in the near-term (a few years). You can throw money around and squeeze out a little, but not what they’re talking about.

@ZackKorman If they give you the logs, you have inifinite options. If they handle it internally, then you’re far more locked in to whatever they offer, at whatever price they want to charge.

@ErikExplains Hah maybe but I think you’ll need to spend those tokens running ai on top of the logs anyway (not a mainstream opinion though so we will see) so they’re better served giving more

@ZackKorman I'm seriously going to start using this tool on people who send me emails in LinkedIn speak when I actually have to respond. It’s the best.

So many people said dumb things about Delve and SOC2 that I had to make a video complaining about it. Delve is bad because fraud is bad. Fraud is worse than whatever personal grudge you have against SOC2. youtube.com/watch?v=Z5Gg3k…

@xploitrsturtle2 It was already horrible. We’re just witnessing a broader scale of attacks, which highlights the problems that have already been there for years, but nobody cared.

The state of security after the big wave of AI usage is horrible to look at. Hope you guys learned something after litellm.

@kmcnam1 The remaining POTS infrastructure cannot die soon enough. Caller ID databases have always been this hilarious nightmare - not even trading security for convenience or expedience, because they aren't convenient or expedient either.
