Lost my mom to cancer yesterday and the grief is overwhelming🥺😞 She was an angel in human form. The most loving person anyone could ever have the privilege to meet. She has been through a lot in her life and she was my best friend. She was diagnosed 10 months ago with Stage 4 TNBC. Lungs, diaphragm, breast, lymph nodes. She was a fighter, went through the treatments like a champ. She suffered so much but always showed up. They called it metaplastic sarcoma at the end. Spread too quickly in her lungs. She was with me till the very end. She told me she did not want to die and that she wants to see me get married someday. That she wanted to come travelling with me. She said she wants to be around for me. But towards the end, the pain took over and midst the agony, she asked me if its okay if she goes. I told her it’s okay if she has to go, told her that shes been in too much pain, that I’ll understand. She said “I will find you again, next time. Ill see you again” The last thing she told me was “have you eaten? Please go eat” She became non-verbal and non-responsive towards the end. She passed 2 days later. She’s gone now. For how much she suffered, I like to think she passed peacefully. It was just a sigh. She was not struggling like she had been for a while. I was talking to her like always. I was holding her hand when she passed. She died in my arms. Could she still feel me? I cannot digest the amount of suffering she went through. I cannot bear it. I am glad she is no longer in pain but, where is she now? Is she scared? What happened when she passed? Where is my mom now? How can the world go on like normal? How can I work? Eat? Sleep? It feels wrong to even attempt to move on. I just want my mom. I cannot bear being the witness of the pain she endured. I keep wondering where she is now. I wish for her to come back to me, in some form, someday. My mom was an angel in human form. I was so lucky to have had her as my amma.

The way Israel has backed down on the attempt to blocked Cardinal Pizzaballa from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the suspension of the Netzah Yehuda Battalion following its assault on the CNN news team are a sign of weakness. A few months ago Israel would have just ignored the criticism. But signs that public opinion in the US in particular is moving against them have made them hesitant to pointlessly antagonize the West. It is however far too late. The damage has been done. But it does show that this is an opportune time to push against Israel. It feels isolated and alone. Terrified of the future.
