A trio of Democratic state legislators in New Jersey say they are drafting legislation to put a 100% tax on New Jersey residents who receive funds from President Trump’s $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund," @danieljhan_ is reporting. According to George Washington University, there were 46 January 6 defendants from New Jersey — with most being convicted or pleading guilty. State Senator @AndrewZwicker said he would introduce legislation in the upper chamber, with Assemblymembers @RaviBhalla and @katiebrennan_32 planning on introducing legislation in the lower chamber.

Just landed in Newark and the love from you guys hits different. People stopping me left and right, shaking my hand, thanking me for the work — that’s what keeps me going. There’s definitely a silent majority out there. We will never give in to a silent few that make noise and destroy cities because the bulk of us see it our way. I took this photo today of a detainee at Delaney Hall being carried out on a stretcher and into an ambulance. This was after reports of guards beating and teargassing detainees on hunger strike.
The level of cruelty is unimaginable. We need to shut this place down.

Secretary Mullin said I shouldn't have been at Delaney Hall, but I disagree.
This isn't about me. This is about the detainees and their families, the lawlessness we're seeing from ICE.
I was willing to take a risk and I'd do it all over again to keep people safe.

I saw chaos inside and outside of the ICE detention center Delaney Hall today. Detainees protesting the lack of due process, the disgusting food and poor treatment while their families and advocates stood outside calling for help. Instead of engaging with me and others about the poor conditions, ICE sent in an armored vehicle and a line of armed agents that only poured gasoline on the fire. Civilians were tackled and restrained, and agents fired pepper balls and spray into the crowd. This is more of the same lawlessness we’ve seen elsewhere around the country.
Our country deserves accountability. Our country deserves the humane treatment of every person here. In fact, our Constitution demands this. What I witnessed and experienced today was shameful. Delaney Hall is a failure; it’s this administration’s failure. The only way to make this right for our communities is to shut it down and make sure the failures we’ve seen never happen again.

I was trying to deescalate the situation outside Delaney Hall and I was pepper sprayed along with other protestors by ICE.
@GovSherrillNJ fund legal services for those in detention or facing deportation now. ICE's terror will not stop and we cannot continue to comply in advance.

January 6th was still a violent attack on our democracy. It was still a failed attempt by this president to stay in power. It still ended with the certification of Trump's loss.
