I think a lot of people misunderstand why AI art is so popular. I personally don't want to be a visual artist, but I have ideas that I want to exist. It would cost me $100+ and at least a week for a low-tier artist to make it for me. AI will make it instantly for somewhere between 0 and 20 cents. Factor in that I am poor and viola. Now you get it. Nobody thinks it's better art, but it's a better option for most people.

Longterm, quality work created by humans will always win - there is no 997$ AI hack to replace its meaning to others.
