Watched Highlander for the first time this week & "original songs performed by Queen" is a crime against humanity. Queen are a level of bad that is generally reserved for american rock bands: tasteless music for tacky people, all the bad parts of camp w none of the gay parts.

To be perfectly clear the woman in question is the incredible Karen Arthur. She directed two totally independent films in the 1970s before she went on to work for 30 years mostly doing TV movies and miniseries. She is a firebrand even in her 80s. A genuine unsung artist! YTD <3

It’s actually not hard to show small, obscure, rare films (digital files, at least) wherever you are. You can literally just email directors/distributors. I know this b/c people I talk to around the world are doing this in microcinemas out of their own pocket. I’m doing it too.

About to unlock a new level of sicko, where I have seen more Lamberto Bava films than Dario Argento films. Fulci passed him years ago, but I feel that this is the real rubicon of diminishing returns for Italio schlock fans.

@MoternMedia Wow! We've got access to a pretty stellar selection of Looney Tunes shorts on 16/35mm via a local archive but I think theater has been uncertain what to do re: licensing. Might have to suggest they get in touch with the Brattle to see how we can make something like this happen!
