A father and son have been identified after a murder-suicide at the Elko Regional Airport in Nevada. Officers arrived to find Giovanni Perez (37) dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound near the ticket counter on April 13th. Upon further investigation, they found Callan Perez (11) in the bathroom of the airport. He was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound. Callan eventually died as a result of his injuries. The pair had been driving a rental car to Nevada when the car broke down. They were towed to the airport to rent another vehicle. That is when Callan went into the bathroom with his father and did not make it out alive. 💔 It was later determined that Giovanni Perez appeared to be hiding Callan from his family members and was in an active custody dispute with the maternal grandparents. Giovanni Perez was in the military and claims to have been diagnosed with PTSD.
