It’s with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved David Agassi. For over a decade, David bravely battled cancer with strength and resilience, never letting it dull his sharp wit or incredible zest for life. David was known for his debonair style, an endless repertoire of jokes, and a heart full of positivity and love. He truly lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment and throwing caution to the wind. He also shared a close bond with his brother, Evin, and could often be found as his right-hand man at countless events across California. Whether it was helping with the setup or adding his own comedic flair to the occasion, David was always in the thick of things, keeping the show running smoothly in his own unique way. Though he never married or had children, he was a cherished uncle to Bianca and Brynner Agassi, and a great uncle known as “uncle hat” to Ava and Baylin, who loved him dearly and will miss his constant presence in their lives. David’s legacy is one of joy, courage, and a life lived unapologetically on his own terms. We will miss him deeply but will carry his memory in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, David. You’ll always be a star in our family’s story.

As we gather around our tables this Thanksgiving, our hearts are both full and heavy. This is the first Thanksgiving without our beloved Evin at the head of our family table, his voice filling the room with warmth, stories, and laughter. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit surrounds us—in our memories, in our music, and in the little things that remind us of him, like the sunglasses that now sit beside me, a quiet reminder of his strength and the moments we shared. We, the Agassi family, want to express our deepest gratitude to each of you—our extended family, our friends, and the beautiful community that has been our strength through this year of loss and reflection. Your love, your prayers, your words of kindness, and your shared memories of our father have been a source of comfort and healing. Thanksgiving is a time to remember what truly matters: the bonds that sustain us, the love that carries us, and the faith that keeps us moving forward. Though this year feels different, we give thanks for the legacy Evin left behind—a legacy of unity, music, and faith that continues to inspire us to live with purpose. As we honor his memory today, let us remember that gratitude is the thread that binds us together, even in moments of heartache. And while his seat may be empty, his presence fills every corner of our hearts, reminding us to live as he lived—with passion, kindness, and love. From our family to yours, we wish you a Thanksgiving filled with blessings, love, and the warmth of those who mean the most to you. Thank you for walking this journey with us and for reminding us, time and again, that Evin’s legacy lives on in the community he loved so deeply. We are honored to share the video that we created and played during the Celebration of Life for Evin Agassi on October 3rd, 2024. A heartfelt thank you to Emmanuel Yousif for his invaluable assistance in recording Evin's final announcement to the stage as we said our last goodbyes. You will first see a photo slideshow accompanied by a special rendition of the song "Khazadeh" created by Evin's son Brynner. Following this, you will hear Emmanual Yousif welcoming Evin to the stage one last time as he beautifully wove together a composition of Evin's many songs. Lastly, you will hear a new drum arrangement by Brynner, on the original Khazadeh track, marking the last and final time he will perform this song with Evin on a stage. May this video serve as a lasting celebration of Evin’s life and the profound legacy he leaves behind… @EvinAgassi

To our beloved community: It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of Evin's passing. With his family by his side, Evin took his last breath tonight at 6:49pm, on the 17th of September. As many of you know, Evin was diagnosed with Glioblastoma-an aggressive inoperable form of brain cancer on July 12, 2024. Despite a comprehensive treatment plan, the cancer did not respond to radiation and chemotherapy as we had all hoped and prayed for. We (and hope you all) take solace in knowing that Evin passed away peacefully and pain free. We, unfortunately are the barriers of the great burden of feeling the immense void of his physical presence.  Although he is no longer here in the flesh, we promised him (as we promise you all) that his music will live on for generations to come. With the creation of Agassi Productions, we are committed to making his legacy withstand the test of time, serving as a continued beacon of hope, joy and love within our great community.  Although we are weary from our journey of grief, we are eternally grateful for the outpour of love and prayer. You provided us all with strength in the most difficult of times. We are certain that Evin is smiling down on us all, as he takes center stage from the heavens above.  With love and respect, The Agassi Family #evinagassi #assyrian
