Timbaland worked with both aaliyah and ginuwine but Aaliyah was the one doing the experimental left field beats. And Ginuwine split from tim in 2002 and couldnt replicate that timbo sound. Aaliyah did it and even elevated it.

@perlaspuss @ChloeGarden_ how am i reducing her? it’s a known fact that Aaliyah gave Timbaland & Missy a platform and they’ve said that many times. She gave them a chance and wanted an experimental sound and they all collaborated to create the popular mysterious R&B sound from OIAM. like what.

Self titled barely had timbaland on there and Aaliyah retained that same sound and even elevated it lmao. Self titled is one of the most critically acclaimed r&b albums of the 2000’s.
