However, by virtue of Brunson's contract over the last 3 years, the Knicks have been able to consistently get seeded and win playoff series. Not flounder through the regular season and lose in the play-in... There's a clear difference in value. If you can't see that, you're completely blinded by your fandom. Comparing financials, Jalen Brunson won't earn Trae Young's current annual salary until 2029. Comparing value league wide. Jaren Jackson Jr. makes the same money as Trae Young. However, the Utah Jazz, spent 3 first round draft picks to acquire JJJ. NOBODY IN THE NBA WOULD OFFER A SINGLE DRAFT PICK FOR TRAE YOUNG. He is a NET NEGATIVE ASSET. How you don't see that is mind boggling. The only team that entertained his salary, was the literal worst team in NBA HISTORY, and even they, only offered an expiring contract and Corey kispert with ZERO DRAFT CAPITAL.
