@HariSel57511397 As humans, we have Christ for that, but there's more the point. You have to want it. Not roll in your own filth even as you are warned not to. And without someone with more authority over him, Caine was almost assured not to bother heeding any call.

@HariSel57511397 having a conversation with him multiple times, and he choses to act out in those moments rather than work through anything. He burned every bridge by passing up every opportunity. He didn't even realize how valuable those opportunities were, but you pay what you owe eventually.

Everyone’s on about the “exit” but that’s not the important question. It’s highly unlikely Gooseworx would write an exit ending. The real suspense about the final episode is whether the show thinks Caine is guilty or not. That’s the contradiction at the heart of the narrative.

Ultimately, even if it fumbles the ending, I think The Amazing Digital Circus is the show that captures the spirit of the 2020s. The internet is fake and ghey. It’s slop. Everyone wants to leave into the more authentic world, but nobody can seemingly find an exit.

@andaisdet @Thfallesoul Didn't Zooble try that on the couch? And imply that the conversation there happened MANY TIMES? Caine just ignores it in favor of what he wants alone, and when he doesn't get what he wants he loops the conversation.

@Thfallesoul I feel like the entire meltdown could have been avoided if Caine just sat down and talked with even a single member of the circus, and genuinely listened to what they thought he was doing wrong in a non confrontational setting

Disagree - separate the aesthetic from the act. The act presents the heretical, an enemy of goodness, and inversion of goodness as a good. That's an ill act. But worshipping something requires a particular acknowledgement, act, etc. The distinction has substance. Otherwise it's free floating rebellious symbolism - could attach to any sort of anti-good symbol. To worship something is different.

None of these people actually worship Satan, but if you were to ask most people why they use Satanic iconography they would say it is ironic or about inverting hierarchical structures or an attempt to reclaim their power in the world or it just looks cool. Okay, why does it look cool? Because it presents the profane as seductive and beautiful. So, in essence, pretending to worship Satan by using his image is not functionally any different than actually worshipping Satan. Many things are like this. The power is not in your belief or consent. It exists within the functional purpose of the thing itself.

En el idioma original, Caine suena más enojado y frustrado, mientras que en español latino suena más desesperado, triste y confundido y me gusta mucho más como queda Incluso con ese “esperen” puedes sentir el pánico y que supo de inmediato que estaba pasando

@horrifichymns how could more humans keep putting on the headset if they were actually stuck there? Would every human really grab a headset off a corpse to put it on and not adress it? It only makes sense they put it on, go "eh" and take it off, while their mind is copied into the game.

I really don’t see how the digital circus members could be actually hooked up to some physical machine and are literally trapped there with rotting bodies. they are definitely just digital copies and there is no saving. Real pomni is probably still being an accountant somewhere

@deliharrr And, well, actions still have consequences. Caine was set for failure from the moment he consumed the other AI. I don't think this could have ended any other way. It's been too late for longer than whatever day it was Pomni first came to the circus.
