"Fairy Islands" is an illustration by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite from "Elves and Fairies," written by Annie Rattray Rentoul and illustrated by Outhwaite. The book was published in 1916 by The Lothian Book Publishing Company. "Fairy Islands" accompanies a short poem about distant islands where fairies live across the sea, with fairy sailors, phantom shells, and shining beacons. Ida Rentoul Outhwaite was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1888. She studied at the National Gallery School in Melbourne and became one of Australia’s best-known illustrators of fairy books. Her works include "Elves and Fairies," "The Enchanted Forest," and "The Little Green Road to Fairyland."
