Looking at some of the names and positions from Round 3, and I believe an argument can be made the Cardinals errored by taking Beck so soon.
Not his selection, but where he was selected.
On the surface, Ossenfort could have traded back a bit, or taken their 4th and moved up to secure a top-100 OL, EDGE, or WR.
Idk if they had any substantive talks, but I get the criticism of using the 65th overall pick on a QB who may only be a career backup.

The problem with the Carson Beck pick is the opportunity cost.
AZ has gotten guys like Tyrann Mathieu, David Johnson, John Brown, Zach Allen, Mike Wilson and Garrett Williams in the third round in recent memory.
They gave up the chance at a building block for a lottery ticket.

It’s viewed as one of the deeper positions, and there’s still a good chunk of talented players on the board. • Several teams I’ve spoken with are monitoring the #Cardinals as a possible fit for Carson Beck. Arizona is looking to move back, per sources. • There will be a “ton” of DTs off the board in the second round. While the position wasn’t viewed as having a surplus of blue-chip prospects, there are still 4–5 really good ones left who won’t have to wait long Friday night.
