Melissa synchronized her playing to the patients breathing, singing lullabies as she fell asleep. The OR staff asked if music therapy could be provided at every procedure. A BIG win for creative arts therapies! #musictherapy

Melissa was the first music therapist from MD Anderson to provide music therapy services to a patient as they were going under anesthesia. Melissa states that “music can be distractive and calming, if played with clinical intent.”
