@FgottenRelics @RailwayHeritage I understand that no work is possible within the tunnel, until ownership can be obtained. Am concerned that the recent purchase of several acres of land and the stated intention to develop a countryside park, is a total distraction from the original plan of the Society

This whole sorry saga is an indictment of just how badly we are being served by Government. Ministers' unwillingness to engage with folk who are trying to make a positive difference for local communities demonstrates just how deep is the mire into which we are sinking.

This time next week, we have a meeting with @simonlightwood to present the case for QT's retention. Will he be receptive to objective evidence or will he have swallowed - hook, line and sinker - the skewed, destructive perspective of civil servants? The tunnel deserves a future.
