We need to be very clear. There was NO vote yesterday in Parliament to add an Inquiry into child sexual exploitation to the Children's Wellbeing Bill. The only vote was on whether to throw the whole Bill out (See below) Any politician or media saying otherwise is lying to you.

Hi @elonmusk this is a bombshell excerpt from the grooming gang enquiry that could completely blow open Keir Starmer’s involvement in the whole thing if you could please retweet

Hard to see how blatant interference of #Musk in British political and judicial affairs is consistent with the notions of sovereignty allegedly dear to #Farage and co? Imagine the reaction if a European leader said that kind of stuff (which of course they would not).

For those of you suggesting a national public inquiry into so called grooming gangs will deliver accountability Do you know that the grand total of people brought to justice following the Hillsborough, Grenfell, Post Office, Infected Blood & Bloody Sunday public inquiries is ONE?

A quick spoiler for you. These new dementia drugs are not wonder drugs. There is no extra money for them. People lobbying for them are effectively lobbying for a further cut in social care - which is already at rock bottom. They have very serious rare side-effects.

More evidence from robust evaluation by my colleagues @TheIFS that SureStart had impressive long run impacts. Previous work showed it improved the long run health and educational achievement of poorer children. New work shows drop in serious youth offending.
Nick Ridpath@nridpathecon

More @TheIFS work out on Sure Start today, looking at rare and costly outcomes. We find big drops in serious youth offending (including youth custody), but less improvement in social care interactions or school behaviour. Take a look 👇

This is a great shame. I don’t understand how the BBC can rightly talk up the importance of the BBC World Service as a means to fight back against misinformation- and then shut down BBC Worlds flagship current affairs programme

THREAD: 1. PERSONAL NEWS: Today BBC News has announced plans to close @BBCHARDtalk after 3 decades holding the world’s politicians and powerbrokers to account. This is sad news for me personally, but much more important, I think it’s depressing news for the BBC🧵

So, is it correct with the never-ending 'freebies' story, that it boils down to Labour declaring them, and the Tories still received them by the bucketload, but never declared them? I don't really agree with the concept of freebies, but the righteous hypocrisy is off the scale.

Prof @Kevin_Fong giving the most devastating and moving testimony to the Covid Inquiry of visiting hospital intensive care units at the height of the second wave in late Dec 2020. The unimaginable scale of death, the trauma, the loss of hope. Please watch this 2min clip.
