Refining the NYDF. The Ministry of Finance, Agribank, EIF and DBN held a three day engagement to review the fund and strengthen how it serves the youth.

The journey to better public finances continues. Meeting with stakeholders focused on adopting IPSAS to strengthen transparency and accountability. Moving to accrual-based reporting will align public sector reporting closely with IFRS and improve clarity in financial management.

The Executive Director, this morning presented Namibia’s economic outlook and its implications for the 2026/2027 national budget during Phase 2 of the Induction and Orientation Seminar for Members of the National Council in Swakopmund.

IMF consultants provided capacity development session on revenue forecasting for Ministry of Finance officials and members of the Macroeconomic Working Group. The technical support is to strengthen forecasting methods, improve data use, and support sound fiscal planning.

The Minister unpacked the Budget at the StandardBank post budget discussion. The dialogue focused on key considerations in Budget 2026/27 and the need to maintain a sound balance between operational spending and development priorities to support long term economic growth.
