At no point did I deny that oversexualising or forcing narratives onto real people can be inappropriate. That was never the disagreement. What I addressed was how your point came across, where a wide range of perspectives ended up being grouped under the same extreme labels. When words like “dehumanising,” “disgusting,” and “not normal” are used broadly, they don’t just target specific behaviour,they start to include anyone who engages with the bond in a way that doesn’t match peoples interpretation. That’s where concern starts to feel like generalisation. And when you use phrases like “Jungkook has been through it since a very young age,” it’s important to also recognise that there are people in this fandom who have supported him from the very beginning, who adored him when he was a 13-year-old kid, not for his abs, face, or fame, but for him. That small boy with big boba eyes and dreams, who grew into the global superstar he is today. So we also know exactly where we stand. If you look at my original post, I never used any sexual or inhumane context. I spoke about appreciating a bond nothing more. And ultimately, neither you nor I get to define what two individuals choose their relationship to be, whether platonic or otherwise. That is their personal choice, not ours. Fans are not entitled to make decision for them. The response, however, used much harsher framing, which is why I clarified my perspective. I wasn’t trying to argue, I was responding, just as you were. But it seems the moment a different perspective is expressed, it gets framed as “arguing,” which isn’t really accurate. At the end of the day, our perspectives are clearly different, and that’s okay. There’s no real point in going back and forth when we’re both simply stating where we stand. You shared your point of view, and I shared mine. That’s all this was.

Everything has to fit into your definition of what’s “acceptable,” and anything outside of that is instantly labelled as “invasive,” “dehumanising,” or “disgusting.” That’s not balance that’s control. You keep framing this as concern for him, but nothing about it reads like it’s coming from him. It reads like it’s coming from you, your discomfort, your boundaries, your interpretation all projected outward and presented as if they’re his. And that’s where it loses credibility. Because interestingly, there seems to be no issue when this fandom, almost every other day, links him to female idols,calling themselves his “wife,” “girlfriend,” and projecting clear fantasies onto him. That level of sexualisation is brushed off as harmless. But the moment the conversation involves a bond between two men, suddenly it becomes “invasive,” “disturbing,” and “not acceptable.” That shift doesn’t come from concern it exposes a very selective discomfort, and quite frankly, it reads as bias. At the same time, you push narratives that he is somehow “uncomfortable” with Taehyung, despite years of visible closeness, mutual respect, and a bond that has remained consistent. But of course, that version is convenient if it supports your stance. The truth is, many of us appreciate that bond for what it is genuine, steady, and deeply supportive. For people who understand what it means to live under constant pressure, having someone grounding like that is not something to twist or diminish, it’s something to respect. You speak about humanity, yet reduce differing perspectives to something inappropriate the moment they don’t align with yours. We don’t see him as a narrative to control,we see him as a human being capable of forming meaningful connections, with whoever he chooses. And that’s the part you keep missing. Because respect doesn’t come from policing how others perceive a bond. It comes from accepting that his life, his relationships, and his choices whether with a woman, a man, or no one at all are not yours to define. Not everyone who appreciates a bond is sexualising it. Not everything is rooted in fantasy. But reducing it all to that makes it easier for you to dismiss it completely. And the irony is, while you insist this is about protecting him, the only thing that comes through clearly is how much it personally bothers you. No one is denying there should be boundaries. But treating your version of those boundaries as the only valid one and labelling everything else as “disturbing” or “not normal”, doesn’t strengthen your argument. It just makes it louder. That’s not advocacy. That’s projection, dressed up as principle.
