@TheAKGuy It’s reasons like this that I will make sure Maverick County and the surrounding counties back you in the special election in November and general election. It’s important to vote in both to allow you to have seniority over the incoming freshman class.

I voted early Maverick County, I encourage y’all do to the same. The election for the $150 million bond election is currently happening at the Cruz Antonio Munoz Gym and 2086 Roosevelt St. I voted AGAINST the bond.

It’s important for all Republicans to coalesce behind @TheAKGuy. It’s also important to note that with the special election likely to coincide with the November election we must get the support of the current counties which include south Maverick, Dimmit, and La Salle. There will be 2 races for TX23 on the ballot in this scenario for November. The first will be to serve out the remainder of the current term under the current lines. This would give @TheAKGuy seniority over the incoming freshman class. The second race would be TX23 under the lines of the big beautiful map lines. That one will be to see who serves out a full 2 year term in the 120th Congress.

@CDHMartinez I’ve been involved in many congressional campaigns in my short life, primarily TX23 being a resident from Maverick County. I can safely say those numbers brought in by the Dem challenger won’t cut it

@TheAKGuy @katy4congress I’ve been around politics for about a decade and I’m 25. I’ve served as County chair and even worked for Tony. I can say with strong confidence from what I’m hearing on the ground it’s that @TheAKGuy will win. I’m committed to ensuring he wins the seat in a special and in Nov!

I see @katy4congress isn’t posting this here because she knows she’s going to get bodied by the comments, so allow me.
First off, I called for Tony’s resignation back in 2025, before Stout even entered the race. So she jumped on my bandwagon, not the other way around.
On top of that, there will already likely be a special. Unless an emergency is called (which hasn’t been the precedent in past cases), according to state law it falls on the date of the next uniform election. Meaning it would likely be currently slated for November.
I would’ve figured an attorney would know how to read the law.

Official statement:
I am glad to see real repercussions for the heinous sexual improprieties that both Tony Gonzales and Eric Swalwell have exhibited in Congress. I do however hate that Tony’s actions have left a vacancy for the representation of District 23.
In the meantime, I promise to do everything in my power to advocate for the constituents of this district at a federal level in the interim until I’m able to take the seat officially after November.

Seems like a good time to remind everyone that when my predecessor passed in March 2025, @GregAbbott_TX set our election for *8 months later* and left our majority-minority, strongly Democratic district without representation for 334 days. We’ll see if Governor Abbott keeps the same energy when a Republican-held seat becomes vacant.
