@MechfloofAD This is sadly, the second time in two months I've ran into this. This time it ended up being my rig. I over service the hell out of my vehicles but slept on that oil seal. Never had any signs of leaking or anything. I was planning on doing a full rebuild with a truetrac soon 😭

@Fluffphia Yeah for sure I see it a lot. Most we usually get to before it’s an issue mostly out of just luck tbh

@MechfloofAD Ripppp This was def just a dried out oil seal that ended up smoking things. It never leaked or had any sort of noise/vibration. Very common on these axles though.

@Fluffphia That’s valid. I get that I’m lucky to have them we had a guy not long ago burn one up after a rear end job lol

@MechfloofAD There's one shop in SoCal that can cut and burn a new one but its a logistical nightmare. Im just going to swap the entire axle.

@Fluffphia Ouch. We have a guy that comes out for those kinda things it’s pretty cool they cut it off and weld a new one on. But it ain’t cheap.

@Striker_Foxx Dont pay the "LS" tax. Find a L92/L9H out of a truck for a 1/3 of the price. 6.2's are the only motors I'll swap in things now.

Although I'm a massive LS fan. I really want to build something with a DAZA in it. Honestly one of the best sounding engines out there.

@shimionline Im curious as well. Right now I use RealTime Labor for Invoicing/Estimates. Labor times on there seem to be pretty fair compared to OE book times.

@Fluffphia Curious to know if prodemands labor times differ from alldata in a meaningful way, I’m regularly finding alldata times that are lower than OE warranty these days, dealing with extended warranties/insurance has been hell 😭

Mechanical Floofers I'm currently using Alldata for my shop but its lacking a lot of makes I've been getting through the shop. Somehow I ended up being the Euro car shop in town. Whats the move? Identifix or Prodemand?

@MechfloofAD I ended up with prodemand. Last time I used Mitchell was back when it was on cd's/dvd 🤣 Alldata was good when I was working specifically on GM stuff but now I'm getting nothing but BMW slop 😭

Prodemand has been great for me. It covers most everything very well. And I’m the only euro slop guy at my shop so I’ve used it a lot with good success. Indetifix misses a lot of information. But prodemand has been great for everything. It has its flaws but overall I’m a fan and I’ve used all three.

@Fluffphia Honestly, I bit the bullet and tossed 10k at a snap on scanner. I hate how much it cost but dawg that thing is pretty sweet. Not a glowing recommendation. But prodemand has worked for me a lot of times too
