@AndyKavna As literal as possible without being awkward is the only correct way to localize content. If a joke only exists in Japanese like for example a word pun that doesn't translate then it's better to lose the joke entirely in translation than awkwardly place a western joke in the spot

My stance on slang in EN localizations has shifted a lot. I used to be in favor of approximations, but now I prefer to simply avoid them and leave it as is or write around it. The audience has shifted on this and we do ourselves no favors by pretending otherwise.
