Councilor Flynn is leading on calls to cut insignificant budget items such as participatory budgeting ($1.2m). Ask Councilor Flynn what *significant* budget cuts proposed by the admin he’s solidly backing, knowing he’ll get blowback from constituents and City workers. None.

$46m for public investment in FIFA’s Boston 2026 was just released by the feds. $20m from the Commonwealth. There’s only 3 months left to plan before the games begin. 😡 Imagine being Boston’s tourism czar in this insane enviro. He would’ve been slammed for doing too little.

BRAINTEASER SOLUTION A tiny retail pavilion was originally planned on Seaport Common. WS expanded the retail pavilion to a whopping 30,000 square foot, multi-story commercial building. Two years later, WS had BPDA eliminate that building. That’s how Seaport Common “expanded!”

BRAINTEASER In 2010, Seaport Common (Block F) was approved as a 1.3-acre public park (pic #1), upon which, a temporary bldg would be sited for max of 20 years (today, District Hall). District Hall remains. WS claims Seaport Common (Block F) has massively expanded. You tell me.

BREAKING (1/2): WS has filed for a Ch91 license for Seaport Sq Block G, signaling this project may be moving fwd. Block G, approved as housing (2017), flipped to office in 2019. MEMO to BPDA: Block G includes a 5,000sf civic space which should open onto abutting Seaport Common.
