Fort Bend ISD named its 2026 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year at the district's annual banquet last night. Help us congratulate Elementary Teacher of the Year Fawzia Elsaadi who teaches Special Education at Sullivan Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year Shenoa Cramer, a Theatre Arts teacher at Sugar Land Middle School. Both will advance to the regional Teacher of the Year competition for a chance to represent in the Texas Teacher of the Year Program. @EHS_Knightswire senior Asiya Sunesara was surprised with the prestigious Impact Scholarship to attend The University of Texas at Austin—an incredible honor that will provide $48,000 toward her education ($12,000 per year over four years). This highly selective scholarship recognizes students for their leadership, academic excellence, perseverance, and commitment to their communities. Even with a full-ride offer elsewhere, Asiya stayed determined in her dream to attend UT Austin where she will major in mechanical engineering. Congratulations Asiya, we can’t wait to see all you accomplish!

Today kicks off the Week of the Young Child, a national initiative that highlights the importance of high-quality early childhood education. The Fort Bend ISD Administration Building recently hosted a special dedication ceremony to unveil its new Freedom Shrine display. Donated by the Exchange Club of Sugar Land, the Freedom Shrine features a collection of historic U.S. documents that have shaped our nation—including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address. This educational exhibit originated from the Freedom Train that traveled across the country showcasing documents of liberty as far back as 1947.

Fort Bend ISD is focused on the future and moving forward with intention. As part of the new FBISD Redesign initiative, six new middle school choice programs will be available for the 2026–27 school year.
