Grateful to Marion from @NDCAN_Scotland for highlighting women’s brain health and the positive difference caring for our brain health can make. 🧠

“We want people in Scotland, including everyone here today, to know that it’s never too early, and never too late, to take steps that can reduce the future impact of dementia. Not just for ourselves, but for those around us.
“So please, leave today inspired to take action.”

Modifying what we eat to match our capabilities isn’t always about puréeing & thickening. Sometimes it’s a slower pace, a smaller sip, an extra swallow, a better posture, a quieter room….endless possibilities to support preference & need. #WithSLTuCan

There can be many factors related to reduced eating & drinking in dementia. An over-stimulating environment, dentition, changed food preferences or even new appetite experience. It’s not always a swallowing disorder. Consider everything. #WithSLTuCan
