Together, we're making true and lifesaving change for cats around the nation and beyond. Here's just a glimpse at our most recent action: ✨ Our Rapid Response Team rushed to Oahu, Hawaiʻi, to protect cats after the worst flooding in 20 years. Our team is active on the ground right now to provide critical disaster relief. ✨ We're championing the first-ever comprehensive statewide TNR law in the U.S., which just passed unanimously in the Maryland House of Delegates. ✨We took the next step in our fight to protect Puerto Rico community cats from a lethal U.S. National Park Service scheme to remove and kill them. ✨ We worked with Lakewood, Ohio, to pass a powerful #TNR ordinance This is YOUR impact as much as ours, and we couldn't do all we do without your support. 🆘🆘 MYSTIC (ID 247322), 5 YO, MALE– IN STATEN IUSLAND ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 2/19/2026, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too many animals already. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/28/26 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️🆘🆘 6th Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY RARE – SHELTER AT CAPACITY - COULD BE LAST CALL FOR MYSTIC - VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 36 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ MYSTIC IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS -He remains in his den throughout the day when staff are present and has displayed defensive behaviors when approached. When staff lift the den cover to check on him, he responds with hissing, lunging, and swatting. When a scratcher tool is presented, he growls and avoids interaction. Given these behaviors, it is in Mystic’s best interest to transition out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as soon as possible, as he does not appear to be thriving in the shelter setting. Medically, he appears healthy at this time. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Meet Mystic 🖤 Mystic is a quiet, independent adult cat who is looking for a calm, adult-only home. He can be timid and skittish, especially in new situations, and will need time and patience to adjust to a new environment. He is not aggressive but prefers space when he feels unsure. An experienced adopter who can move at his pace, offer high-value treats, and use gentle positive reinforcement will help him build confidence and trust. With understanding and a peaceful home, Mystic has the potential to slowly blossom into a rewarding companion. Mystic is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is very apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, she does attempt to flee and avoid human contact. It is difficult to predict if he will respond to socialization but we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people.❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke @mehser12 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 JENNIE (ID 247814), 2 YO, MALE– IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an aco - owner surrender on 2/18/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- eviction. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/28/26 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️🆘🆘 6th Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY RARE – SHELTER AT CAPACITY - COULD BE LAST CALL FOR JENNIE - VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 37 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ JENNIE IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is an under socialized adult cat, not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I have lived with cats in my previous home. I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. Jennie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke @mehser12 💔😿🙏Thank you

Poor sweet girl. We would welcome her in a heartbeat if she were closer to us. Will you please RT to get this quiet and loving senior kitty the forever home she deserves? 💔
