I feel like the point of Shrek was that it was SUPPOSED to look a bit realistic and dirty, to better play into the whole Disney parody thing. Now, not only are the designs exactly like an actual Disney movie, but Donkey is doing stock cartoony Disney character acting as well.

I understand the reason why it looks the way it does because of the new animation and it would make no sense to use old models when you have newer technology, but at the same time, though it’s like you could’ve tried to make it look dirtier
