Just led a tour walk with a bunch of French kids. Tried my best and the kids were fine, but I remembered half way through how excruciatingly boring a tour is for teenagers when all they want to do is wander round the shops and try to buy cigarettes and booze. #Southampton

Nectar rich plants just gone in next to the bug homes. They won't do much until next summer but planting now gives them a head start.

Thanks to everyone who came along to create the bug homes, helping increase the biodiversity of the park. We also created some log piles, so the insects, butterflies, bees, moths etc will have somewhere to nest. Nectar rich plants going in soon.🐛🕷🪲🐞🐝🦋

We are having a community event building bug homes to improve the biodiversity of the party. 3 pm SATURDAY 25TH OCT in the car park behind Bitterne Park social club, Manor Farm Rd ALL HELP WELCOME.🐛🦋🐝🐞🪲🕷 DM for more info.

These are the new rescue points placed at regular intervals along the river. Ring 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Read out the What3words name (on the pillar) and they will tell you the release code. Other services will automatically be alerted.

Just like buses you don't see one for ages and then three come along at once. Plans to relandscape the mouth of the river at Woodmill and provide new seating facing down the river.

Also, a number of emergancy throw lines will be installed along the river from Cobden Bridge to Mansbridge. These will be accessed in a similar way to defibrillators. A call button will give you a key code to open the chamber with instructions on how to throw the line.

We've been a bit quiet for a while but we have some very good news. The MUGA (multi-use games area) near Woodmill Lane which has been in a bad way for a while is being resurfaced next week. 1/2

We still need helpers on the day. But we are also looking for people to join our small team of Coordinators who plan and manage the festival throughout the year. It doesn't take up much time and is a fun thing to do. Either way get in touch or come and talk to us on the day.
